| The
ancient city of Hama in Syria in 1948-49 witnesses an influx of refugees
following the Naqba (catastrophe) that saw the destitution of Palestinians
after the formation of the state of Israel. The film develops its intertwining
of personal lives with political events through two successive military
coups in Syria and the repression that resulted. Syria
